Sensors for the determination of metal ions concentration

Fast development and wide application of stripping electroanalytical methods, stripping voltammetry particularly, is due to low detection limit, high sensitivity, selectivity, analysis rapidity, low cost of equipment. Electroanalytical methods provide successful decision of problems connected with environmental and technological processes monitoring, analysis of food, biological and clinical objects, various industrial materials.
Disadvantage of Stripping Voltammetry is the sensor (working electrode). Normally mercury or mercury containing solid electrodes are used as sensors. Basic problem of their application is toxicity of mercury and its soluble salts, necessity of solid electrode surface renewal.
To overcome the difficulties we worked out working electrodes free of mercury or mercury soluble salts.

  1. Impregnated graphite electrode (electrochemical surface regeneration), the electrode is applied for Cu,Pb,Cd,Zn,Cr,Ni,Mo,Mn,Sn determination.

  2. Thick film graphite electrodes for the determination of Ni, Cr, W, Se, Mn, Mo.

  3. Four electrode electrochemical sensors for field analysis. Sample preparation and measurement processes are combined in one tank.
